The low-fat craze was a scam. It was started when a study done showed sugar was more to blame for heart attacks and the cereal industry paid off the scientist so he fudged the study to blame animal fat. Turns out if your body doesn’t get all the fat it needs it will turn carbohydrate into fat and store it on your body for later use because it thinks it is in a famine. Eat the fat to lose weight!
Another often cited “study” is the nurse's study where they claimed meat causes problems but they used things like pizza and lasagne as a meat portion because they contained meat. The study had the nurses surveyed and had to remember what they had to eat over the past year. Dumb.
Seeing grandparents and elder relatives live long healthy lives eating eggs, meat, dairy, etc in spite of some of their lifestyle choices (like drinking and smoking) made me think their food wasn't the problem we've been told it is.
I recall looking at the ingredients of some "low fat" foods back in the 1980's and thinking they just replaced fat with sugar. Why is that good for us?
And you wonder why there’s a war on chicken? Because you used to be able to fill a bowl with 6 heart healthy scrambled eggs for $0.50. Sounds like a cheap way to end world hunger.

The Food Pyramid most likely came form big Pharma research making the human body unhealthy.
A high fat diet CAN be harmful if you already have cardiovascular disease, which in turn is mostly caused by seed oils and insulin resistance.
