Over 5,000 Firings Expected at the Pentagon Beginning Next Week | The Gateway Pundit | by Cassandra MacDonald
In a significant workforce reduction, the Pentagon plans to terminate approximately 5,400 probationary employees next week, aiming for greater efficiency and alignment with the President's strategic priorities.
"We anticipate reducing the Department’s civilian workforce by 5-8% to produce efficiencies and refocus the Department on the President’s priorities and restoring readiness in the force,” Selnick said.
Selnick’s statement continued, “We expect approximately 5,400 probationary workers will be released beginning next week as part of this initial effort, after which we will implement a hiring freeze while we conduct a further analysis of our personnel needs, complying as always with all applicable laws.”
That's a LOT of lipstick and eye shadow money they'll be saving.
Those are rookie numbers
5,000? That's IT?
That's just the probationary folks from what I can read. I'm sure many more are coming.
5% works out to over 50,000.
Good start...
If you're in the Private Sector it takes "selling yourself" to get a job or promotion; gov't hires and promotes likability and compliance. I've been laid off three times in my career and it would have been 3 times more if I hadn't jumped ship and got hired somewhere else.
It's about time "they" felt it. Let them go sell their skills.
They are actually trying to balance the budget and save the country. Amazing.
