See my updated comment. They plan to delve into local government waste. Time for the "leaders" of their notoriously blue cities to start caterwauling and calling this "unconstitutional", etc.
Will be in effect for one year at which time it's due to sunset upon completion
Abolish an additional 70 boards and commissions
Review Colleges and Universities - a deep dive into all facets of college and university operations and spending and make recommendations to the Board of Governors and State Board of Education
Further Examine State Agencies - identify more ways to cut unnecessary spending and eliminate bureaucracy
Audit Local Governments - look into local government expenditures to expose bloat within local governance.
Return Unused & Surplus Federal Dollars (interesting...)

I suspect that he'll move to implement their own version of FAFO at the completion of the DOGE period - Florida Agency of Financial Oversight.
As far as eliminating boards and commissions, this is an ongoing effort as the claim in the announcement is that they've already gotten rid of many of these prior to DOGE.
I'm sure they're going to clobber any remnant of DEI and the other society-destroying BS the marxist turds have been pedaling (or withhold state funds for noncompliance). The mood killer here is they will be making recommendations to corrupt FBoE so they'll in all probability just be ignored.
In general, with the exception of a handful of ultra corrupt commie state reps and their cadre of corrupt marxist lawyers, the local governments of certain cities there are infested with decades-long, entrenched corrupt marxist leaders (Mayors, council people, etc). I'm hoping the DOGE efforts will uncover loads of fraud and corruption so they'll be able to pry these demons out of power.
How about a portion of the Savings go into a Hurricane Insurance Fund. It can act as a Reinsurance Fund to help reduce Insurance rates in the State of Florida. My family's Condo fees cover the Insurance for the building. They went from $400 to $1200 a month in a year in Florida. How about creating a large Warehouse of American sources materials that are on Standby for Emergencies so the costs don't go up when the demand spikes right after a Hurricane.
Great ideas. I have no doubt this Governor will tackle the corrupt insurance industry in time, just hope for the residents' sakes it's sooner rather than later. I'd have to look, but if I remember correctly DeSantis did recently say they were studying the insurance issue.
This is all well and good. But having the agency isn't as important as WHO is running it. Putting another corrupt politician in charge of auditing other corrupt politicians accomplishing nothing. DOGE works because he literally uses geniuses to do the investigations and Elan doesn't give a fuck what anyone other than the President thinks.
It's going to be interesting to watch. I think seeing one or a few governors step up and start the process will be instrumental in seeing the demons' responses, the types of lawsuits they put forth to try and stop the uncovering of their fraud and corruption, etc. Other states will then be better prepared for what they need to have in place when they implement their own DOGE. It will also serve to not only indicate how badly the DS has been financially kneecapped, but will draw money into their fighting this as they're trying to at the federal level. This will also provide the WHs with more intelligence/intercepted comms and paths to remaining DS funding sources.
And they are going to delve into local governments as well, as is their charter in this effort. This is key IMHO as the pockets of marxist control are what has traditionally sullied the states.
Needs to go down to the County level were the real crooks are...

Think global.
Steal local.

Good points. I think the game here is to say "we're looking for waste" and in the process they just "happen to uncover" the fraud and corruption.
