The US aligning with Russia, with our combined demographics and Christian values, would be a formidable world power, hopefully a moral one.

Think WW2. Who was judged at Nurnberg? Who exactly was Judged - what was their position? Who was not Judged? How did they escaped Judgement? Think Fake IDs, think Fake uniform, easy escape. Who has established NATO? Who was in NATO leadership early on? What is the main goal of NATO? Why NATO still exists after USSR collapse? Who controls money flow in NATO?
My answer is goal is lost, but money flow is still there, so it need new - vilified russia to keep money flowing.
This is what they fear the most. The two true world powers with the most advanced weapons also happen to have the most civilized culture (both religiously and philosophically). The two of them coming together to show the world the way is the worst outcome for (them) (the DS).
