Rubio is SOS, not a senator or am I missing something.
Looks like this was introduced in the Senate and passed on to the Commerce Committee. They have to approve it, then send it to the House and Senate for final votes. Rubio introduced likely before being confirmed as Secretary of State.

It was "passed" once before and never came into effect, so I have no idea what's going on.
We never change our clocks where we are. However, we have to keep track for friends on @ coast! It is a pain in the rear!
I could see keeping Standard time year round, but not DST. So many areas like yours don't observe DST and it would cause constant confusion. Also, Mrs. bigsix is a Standard time girl - nevers gets her clock adjusted to DST.
I don't care what they do as long as they stop changing the time twice a year. It really disrupts my sleep pattern.
In the comments some people say it's old and not for all the states 🤷♀️ I haven't heard anything in my area about it, so don't think it's recent. My friends would have been blowing the phone up with... Hallelujah!! 😄
OMG, I hope not. I don't want daylight savings year round. It's not supposed to be light at 10 pm. We need to get rid of it permanently!

Yep. And kids will be going to school in pitch black. I love all the downvotes I got from people who apparently want nighttime to be daytime.
