With Greenland I believe he really does want it. Makes sense for international security. Not just for US but Europe too. And we can’t count on the Danes military and their 12 sled dogs to protect that giant land from the east.
Trump will get Greenland. All he has to do is convince a majority of the voters it is in their best interest. There are only roughly 57,000 people, and Grok thinks there are between about 39k and 42k voters. They have self-governance and are legally allowed to leave Denmark and become an independent country.
If Trump could convince them to join us after voting for independence they could ally with us or vote to ask us to become a territory, and later at some point ask for statehood. The "ally" part is most likely in the short term.
