It’s a difference of what is reported, here’s the chart shown on the article you referenced https://www.broadwayleague.com/research/statistics-broadway-nyc/ and here’s a couple articles about the decline https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/broadway-box-office-1235915277/ and https://www.davlermedia.com/why-did-broadway-lose-almost-a-third-of-a-million-theatergoers-last-year/ I think it is recovering and will come back as soon as Homan cleans it up.
