I'll tell you exactly why US military kill themselves, it's 2 reasons. first, you go home and realize you were murdering civilians. If you can't compartmentalize your brain it eats at you.
Second, high contact military (Marines, Rangers, SEAL) in training get you hyped up and PROGRAM you for suicide once your career is over. This is best shown in the movie Full Metal Jacket. I heard it.
That might be part of it but I also know many military people who live well and long.

Leonard Lawrence is such a terrible recruit at first that he gets the nickname Private Pyle from the Sgt and receives abuse and trauma. After some remedial help, Pyle becomes a proficient rifleman but becomes obsessed with his weapon and with killing. The night after completing basic training and being assigned to infantry, Pyle kills the Sgt, fulfilling the role of a killer. Then Pyle kills himself.

Have them videotape this. I'm sure the American people would love to see it. On the other hand I'm told the government recruits psychopaths willing to murder and so is that the best way to bury the threat when the military finishes with a psycopath?
psychopaths wouldn't feel bad about murdering civilians
they go on to be contractors (mercs) and 6x their salary
