There's claims he is dead; one is from theory that he's already been executed by DS or MIL, the other comes from the claims of John McAfee, who says he was "shot on national television".

Or he could be at GITMO or detained, being played by an actor such as Arthur Roberts or someone from the family.. or the strangest but ironically most sound theory i've heard: That's actually him, with facial reconstruction surgery or wearing a mask from being beaten up so bad, and he was either served as an offering from the DS as a compromise with MIL or already arrested and beaten into submission, and was forced to play a part in the show.
