Out of hand like you order a coffee at a local coffee shop and they turn the screen to you and the default tip options are 20%, 25%, or 30%? If your machine is greedy, I’m not going to the trouble of typing in a custom tip. Someone who’s been running around for me for an hour while I’m sitting and eating a meal is getting 20% for a good job. You’re not getting 20% for turning around pouring a coffee, turning back around and putting it on a counter.
There is limited tipping in places like restaurants and taxis but it's a voluntary 10% for good service. In the US it has got a bit out of hand.

Way out of hand though I love tipping good service.
