40 Elon: "We want to take humanity back to Mars. Well. Wait." LOL. (And damn it, I hate that way X works sometimes, I lost the sauce to this - can anyone find it? It's a kind of funny Freudian slip!) NDT has said before that life on Earth could have been seeded from Mars on a asteroid. Why are there microbes on Earth that are resistant to radiation in space unless the microbes lived in space for some time.
Tardigrades are, in my view, quite likely to be extraterrestrial.
Some consider mushrooms and even cephalopods to be ... a bit too different to be "from around here" as well.
The Mars to Earth idea sounds a bit "Zacharia Sitchin meets John Carter", but I don't consider it to be impossible.
I am so fascinated by Tardigrades! I agree with you - their resistance to radiation could certainly mean they're extraterrestrial.
And also extreme cold and heat, and dehydration.
If you were subjected to any of that, it would be gonezo for Magpi.
