Yes, when in the military the average Joe becomes a fighting machine for the evil government and probably do horrible things against civilians, but we need to force the government to bend a knee and not try to kill every civilian they see. Good people can do bad things when wrapped in their country's flag. This goes for the Palestinians too. Their leaders are bad and their Average Joe's just want to live in peace. If the hospital had been used as a storage base by Hamas, then yeah. Hamas had done that before at another hospital. Under the rules of war, hospitals etc. lose all protection if they are being exploited by combatants.

Maybe you are not looking in the right places. All I know is what I heard on news reports. I'm not very impressed with news coverage in general. There is an immense amount of fake reporting coming out of Ukraine and accepted by the West as truth. The Ukrainian use of human shields is not remarked, despite its prevalence.
In any case, it is difficult to understand the concept of "innocent" Gazans, when the population is solidly in support of Hamas, a genocidal terrorist organization, and approves the October 7th atrocity.

The IDF did take over this Hamas stronghold over a year ago and based many IDF operations out of that location, while internally occupying Gaza.
Whenever a military occupation is pulling out, they do not leave their infrastructure behind for the enemy to utilize. This is the case here, there is no way the IDF would leave this structure behind to be used by Hamas again.
If I or any one of you were a military strategist planning on removing your forces from a previous enemy stronghold, it would be ludicrous and the height of stupidity to leave that structure behind intact to be reused by the enemy. It was no longer a hospital it was an empty building and potential Hamas asset if left intact.
And I've personally seen video air surveillance of armed Hamas gunman unloading weapons from transports into hospitals as well as videos of the underground network of tunnels they excavated beneath nearly all hospitals and schools in Gaza.
As noted by Steve Witkoff, the underground of all of Gaza is like Swiss cheese from the tunnels and it will take 15-20 years to rebuild the city because there is no foundation left to build anything on without driving 100-foot-deep pylons to support structures being built.

There is no war crime in attacking your military opponent wherever he is, because he is not supposed to be using human shields. There hasn't been elections in Gaza since 2006. The median age in Gaza is 18. So your claim that these children deserve death is uninformed or evil.
