I wanna guess they're going to start learning how to develop AI. I'm more worried about this than I am nuclear bombs. At least every one with a nuke, knows the whole world is dead if a single one flys, because if one launches, we all launch. But with AI, you can be discreet and it can grow out of control in the dark, and by the time we find out, it'll be too late.
They're going to get China AI that doesn't let them think outside of very strict boundaries and will only be able to produce crap because of it. They'll fake a few discoveries by children and put out propaganda how it's amazing, but it'll be all smoke and mirrors.
