i would add, in order to illustrate it: star wars skeleton crew. the point is not the kids story but the fact they lived on a world, engaged in the "great work", a socialist utopia, guarded by robots, and governed by AI.
In the Netherlands, judges are starting to use AI to write their rulings...
In other places of government, huge.models are used to plan and predict the outcome, create policy, of course in the best interest of nature ( IPCC) income development, job security, heck, there is even talk of a New Social Contract.
The point is, the utopian idealogues have a penchent for AI as a soothsayer of old, or the enlightened despote.
As always, technology is a matter of application, and who does the applying.
Would it be thinkable that an AI already is calling the shots and the several committees are only the steucture through which the commands are trickling down
AI's are generally geares towards the ideology of the greater good, not the greatest good: i.e. individual freedom.
good points.
