I'm the son of a hog and beef cattle farmer. Dad always said, "No farmer ever got rich off government subsidies."
To that, I'd add, There's no such thing as job security. Nobody knows that better than farmers. This shift is a long time coming.
In the bigger picture, this is not a good news for many Canadian Farmers. Your Father is free to have an experienced opinion but he does not speak for all of Canada.

As with every necessary course correction, time will tell how this shakes out for everyone, Canadian farmers included.

In the bigger picture, this is really good news for all Canadians and many Canadian Farmers. The corrupt commie supply management cartels just died.
