President Trump on Sunday denied engineering a stock market sell-off, and likened the pain of re-ordering the global economy to taking medicine for an illness.

"I don't want anything to go down. But sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something," Trump told reporters on Air Force One, heading back to Washington, D.C.

Fog of war is in play. Keep in mind that the markets have been aware of Trumps tariff plans for years now.

Everyone has known Trump was going to do heavy tariffs for the last two years now. This is not a surprise to anyone let alone market makers and the rest of the financial world. Think about it, every single other bit of news is always "priced in" and this one isnt? Give me a break, this was the furthest thing from a surprise and everyone even knew the exact date the tariffs would start. So they are taking advantage of a smokescreen

I think the "crash" is bring engineered in an attempt to get PDJT to back pedal on tariffs and make small investors panic sell. They did the same thing back in 2020 (covid plandemic was issue then but same playbook used) and everyone that put money at the bottom then is happy they did.
