Just curious, as I live in Europe: is there any legal way to get rid of Supreme Court Justices, if they are not willing to retire or otherwise quit themselves?
There is a difficult constitutional process for doing so, but the Judge would need to do something illegal, then be removed by congress. I think it would take a 2/3 majority vote to do so, if I recall correctly. For all practical purposes it's nearly impossible to remove a justice from the Supreme Court.
