Reminds me of the time scientists were perplexed why sea lions weren't inhabiting the north east region so they relocated a bunch there to live happily...until sharks gobbled them all up. Then scientists were perplexed why there were so many shark attacks on humans in that same area...blamed climate change. Man needs to stop playing God.
I swear I saw 2 of these in captivity in Texas ---- looked "exactly" like the white cloned adults (gorgeous animals). The owner didn't want me to get near them. I asked "what kind of dogs are these?" he said those are wolves. They were much bigger than dogs. The place was in the middle of nowhere.
If they weren't Dire wolf clones, I'd like to know what they were.
Not just Game of Thrones. The article says his name is "Remus" and then in the second photo there are two of them. My guess is that the other one is named "Romulus".
Romulus and Remus are the two babies that were suckled by a wolf and went on to found Rome.
This could be a reference to the Roman Empire, which these days is probably best represented by the US Federal Government, The City of London, and The Vatican.
In the Game of Thrones, the wolf represents the good guys. Having the good guys resting comfortably on the throne means that they are in control and not worried about anything.
I found it most interesting that the 3 wolves are almost completely grey wolves, with 15-20 edits in their genome, to gain the appearance of dire wolves. Which is worse than recreating actual dire wolves, since we have no idea what their impact will be. Dire wolves went extinct for some reason. These creatures may genetically destroy all other canines worldwide if released. I can guarantee you humanity is not smart enough to control that.

This is an important comm because Elon and POTUS Posted within 4 hours of each other about Fire Wolves.... 💥
Once you open Pandora's Box there's no controlling the out come. Some animals went extinct for a reason.

here is the NZ article about Dire wolves
It is a cloned ancient DNA sample. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/world/557551/scientists-say-they-have-resurrected-the-dire-wolf

Do I think reviving extinct dire wolf is a bad idea? Yes. Am I excited anyway? Yes.
Clear reference to Game of Thrones series. I’ll let someone else spoil what it means to have wolves on the throne.

+1! interesting comments in nitter thread, how much should we do this science? Interesting to consider
Reminds me of the old Newfoundland anti-confederation song. "Come near at your peril, Canadian Wolf."
