I finally had time to watch the video. The most important part of the video isn’t what John Rich said, or his impression of President Trump’s reaction.
The most important part is President Trump arranged for a certain group of people to be around that table. And, he asked the person he knew would answer with the unvarnished truth.
And, yes I’m biased, but I believe POTUS only asks questions when he already knows the answer. He wasn’t shocked by the answer, it was the answer he knew he would hear and wanted the other people around the table to hear.
