Sam Walton was patriotic, but after his death, things went south. I shop at Publix, Costco, and Aldi, rarely buy anything at Walmart, and that's typically food, nothing from the other half of the store.
Yeah, I don't buy much there either. However they are the best place to buy gold and silver retail sometimes and now CC upcharge like every other bullion dealer. They don't adjust prices on the Fly. If you understand how to take advantage of that...
They are better at deals on gold than on silver, though. They have nothing in stock online because of the tariff downturn, but typically you pay around 40 over spot which is a good price. Then you get 2% Cashback for exec membership and another 2% from their CC putting you around 80 under spot and no CC upcharge which is 4-6 %.
I dislike DEI, but to completely avoid it you would have to stop doing business with any corporations. All the WEF corporations are in on DEI, just some are allowed to keep it on the down low.
Just yesterday Discover Card invited me to change my CC picture. There were 3 or 4 pride themed, and another 3-4 subtly pride-themed.
I completely avoid Target because of their whole Pride clothes for children, including "tucking" underwear for boys...
Yes, Apparently there are 2 Aldi Companies, but two brothers own them or something. I don't like Aldi meats, but my wife buys their veggies. I can be ok with their Mayo, Peanut Butter, Jelly, and their Albicore Tuna which is much better than the Mush the name brand Tuna in the cans put out. TP is TP, and same with Sandwich and garbage bags.
Both Aldi and Walmart cheap breads are actually healthier because they use less sugar. Eat 100% Whole Wheat from them then eat name brand bread. You will notice how sweet the name brand bread is.
Yes, I hate Walmart Department Store Side. A lot of junk, and even some name brand stuff is the made for Walmart model, like Schwinn Bicycles. They still make good bikes, but not the ones at walmart.
On the food side name brand foods seem pretty good, but avoid buying from their deli or bakery goods. Not that cheap and the quality is crap, same with some of their produce.
That is how Walmart got its claws into the American market. How soon it reversed. Shutting down local Mom & Pop stores etc.
I never set a foot into any Walmart! But some ppl I know to save a nickel shop there and put their own neighbors out of business!

Costco doubled-down on their DEI agenda.

I believe Aldi is a German company.

Aldi is good as far as I know.
I only buy certain items from Aldi, but I like how their cashiers get to sit. Mom cashiered at stores off and on and always complained her feet hurt.
I think about 90% of stuff sold in Walmart is made in China. I wouldn't want to own Walmart stock right now :)
