Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

This is so very helpful! I've been trying to find a few minutes to myself all day so I can fully delve into it. It seems the harder I try, the more busy I've become today. I want to understand the war between Palestine and Israel, and I pray the innocent on both sides will be spared. Thanks so much for your post.
welcome! it is important for us to study and understand things as God would have us, and the Palestinians vs Israel is one thing that takes a lot of study. I just did a chatgpt q &a on Mark Twain. His real name Samuel can mean “God heard” (him) or he “hears God” as he was a prophet. Clemens it Latin for merciful, like when a pardon or forgiveness is granted.
Mark Twain traveled in 1867 on a cruise, and on Sept. 24, he was in Jerusalem. This in 1867 was in between Yom Teruah (day of shouting, often referredto as Trumpets) and Yom Kippurim Day of Atonement.
The prayer readings that Ashkenazi Jews around Europe and USA would have included in their daily reading at the same time M. Twain was in Jerusalem = Psalm 27. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2027&version=KJV
Vs. 7 “ Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.” — a “coincidence”
Oh, yes! Thank you for this beautiful reminder to wait up on the LORD. I've been struggling with wanting immediate answers and with waiting upon the LORD here lately. I will just continue to wait and trust that all will be revealed when HE declares it to be revealed. Thank you for reaching out with this verse my friend.
