Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

So I have this friend and this friend is more family then friend. Brilliant Kind and a true Sister in all senses of the word. The TDS however is powerful. I find myself making strides a bit by agreeing that some things are concerning then trying to shift the conversation a bit to inconsistency in the left’s position. It feels like two steps forward one back. I am not overly worried because I know how smart she is and I don’t want to manipulate her. However it frustrates me that so much information is garbage I feel like it is an almost impossible task. Red pills are harder to swallow when the narrative is still so powerful BUT I am encouraged because in recent months part of those conversations reflect a deeper understanding that there IS a narrative. Not giving up she is too precious in our lives to allow this loss.
I understand this so much. I don’t even try with my fam, in laws & a friend I’ve had since I was five. One fam in my in laws got the vax to be able to travel. Hubby parents, my dad & mom got it because they are brainwashed by the doctors. My mom just did what he told her, she was already going downhill mentally. Ma in law & my dad aren’t the same mentally, could old age or vax. They are all glued to msm. We went to a family wedding shower yesterday. I told my husband everyone in that house but us were vaccinated and brainwashed still. It’s so sad. Sounds like you have a great friend. I understand you being cautious. I pray for awakening for everyone.
Hugs. Sadly I have many I walked away from or abandoned us because of my choices in not following the herd. I can love them in my prayers and sadly be grateful for how less toxic my life is now but she is a true sister in Christ and a dear dear friend and I hope someday she will be freed from the zombie virus
As Pres. Trump makes moves in the economic arena to MAGA, there will be a lot of monetary / currency, trade, and welfare changes & effects.
There’s a Canadian youth group- made film, 2010, that could be a positive discussion-opener for you and your friend.
Not today, but around August going into autumn season, I think will be a broader awakening. As this happens, the first 40 minutes of this Canadian- youth - created film could be ideal to explain why Pres. Trump is doing what he is doing - restructuring, and preparing America for big changes, & precipice event (however it may come about). https://rumble.com/v2gor82-april-6-2023.html
Filmed from a Canadian perspective how their central banking inherently harms Canadian people, the same principles apply for the USA.
Made with humor (apologies in advance for a moment of unChristian humor with animated Abe Lincoln giving bankers assassins the middle finger, or for some, the gesture might be christian), your friend’s eyes should be opened up, at least to converse about why Trump is doing his policies, and why Rinos & Dems wrongfully oppose him.
Thank you. Very much
welcome! the first 40 minutes is the relevant and educational part, then they go into past decades politics and mention Bilderberg group. near the end they close with an off-key rendition of singing the Canadian anthem
What would you say is the very 1st birthday of middle age?
Granted you live until 90, then, to me, it would be the whole period between 29, when you enter it, then 30, when you're in it, and 31, when you leave it.
This is just general and, from experience, I will say that you notice different things in different decades.
By your logic, it seems 30 is the 1/3 age and 45 would be the start of middle age.
Yeah, I was going 30, 60, 90, so 31-60 would be in the middle of ages.
And yes you're right, with my scale, 45 is THE middle age. Anything before is 'pre', anything past is 'post'.
So you're saying that 60 is the last year of middle age?
Using my 30, 60, 90, yes. I know that after 65 you're geriatric. I did a quick search just to see what was sort of official.
PubMed breaks it down further.
So, have we come up with an answer to your question? 😉😄
I'm 66, so past midlife and into geriatric,
After all this, when would YOU say is the very 1st birthday of middle age?
Gee, I sure don't like that word geriatric. It puts me in mind of someone who is disabled. If it was up to me, I would say middle age starts when you're no longer getting carded for liquor purchases and when your eyesight goes from perfect to needing glasses. For me that was 45.
Ah, yes, I remember that. Had to keep upping the reader power. I really liked the ones that had the lights built in. I'm now using FG's multifocus, since I broke my prescription glasses years ago.
Now I'm getting carded for ordering off the senior menu! 🤣
C. H. Spurgeon's Morning Reading (April 13th)
"A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me." — Song of Songs 1:13
Myrrh may well be chosen as the type of Jesus on account of its preciousness, its perfume, its pleasantness, its healing, preserving, disinfecting qualities, and its connection with sacrifice. But why is He compared to "a bundle of myrrh"? First, for plenty. He is not a drop of it, He is a casket full. He is not a sprig or flower of it, but a whole bundle. There is enough in Christ for all my necessities; let me not be slow to avail myself of Him. Our well-beloved is compared to a "bundle" again, for variety: for there is in Christ not only the one thing needful, but in "Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily," everything needful is in Him. Take Jesus in His different characters, and you will see a marvellous variety-Prophet, Priest, King, Husband, Friend, Shepherd. Consider Him in His life, death, resurrection, ascension, second advent; view Him in His virtue, gentleness, courage, self-denial, love, faithfulness, truth, righteousness-everywhere He is a bundle of preciousness. He is a "bundle of myrrh" for preservation-not loose myrrh tied up, myrrh to be stored in a casket. We must value Him as our best treasure; we must prize His words and His ordinances; and we must keep our thoughts of Him and knowledge of Him as under lock and key, lest the devil should steal anything from us. Moreover, Jesus is a "bundle of myrrh" for speciality. The emblem suggests the idea of distinguishing, discriminating grace. From before the foundation of the world, He was set apart for His people; and He gives forth His perfume only to those who understand how to enter into communion with Him, to have close dealings with Him. Oh! blessed people whom the Lord hath admitted into His secrets, and for whom He sets Himself apart. Oh! choice and happy who are thus made to say, "A bundle of myrrh is my well-beloved unto me."
I just found out about an anime I am willing to watch: The King of Kings.
Hi frens, Happy Palm Sunday. Hope you are doing well.
Happy Palm Sunday to you as well.

Yes I love it. Nothing better than a sunset over the ocean. Last night I almost sent this one https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIWxQmHSqXy to hubby. Didn’t because he hears enough about Hawaii. I’m very thankful I can breathe in salt air once or twice a month.
He entered Jerusalem on a donkey, in church we would sing "All Glory Laud and Honor to thee Redeemer King", as children we would wave the palms and sing, Crown HIM with many crowns. As a child, it was hard for me to understand the joy of this, because I knew that in 4 days, the same people who cheered him on and declared him King, would cheer at his torture and demand he be crucified. It was a heavy lesson for a devout child, a lesson of betrayal from people who would cheer you in one place, and condemn you in the same place. It did not matter if they cheered or they slandered, HIS love never wavered, he forgave them, he promised they would join him in Paradise, (the two who hang on either side). As an old woman now, I have learned from contemplating the Gospel, sought the deeper meaning behind the few lines written, and have learned that it all sums up the condition of the human heart. Fickle in Faith, swayed by a trend, not to be trusted. My question to this day is, God in Christ knew all, he knew what would happen, he knew that the cross would be waiting for him, but he sat on that donkey and watched the crowds, as they lay down palms before him, an action done for the great, for a King. Holy Week begins. It will be a week of intense highs, and then despair, and then a miracle, the miracle was for us, not for HIM. Of course God is eternal, there was never any death waiting for him, but the body he took on, he took on to experience what a man must go through, the pain, the betrayal, the end of all sensation of a heartbeat. It made his love of us complete, knowing how life ends, knowing all the disappointment that we bring each other, he went in anyway, so that he may know us.My question then , who are we to seek approval and honor, when we know that can change on a dime, if it comes from mere men and women? It does not save us from death, the only thing that will is our Faith with a capital F.
