I may be 70, but I've been a tech geek since visiting Paul Allen at his Lake Washingrton cabin in the mid 1970s to see his new "memory capture device" - which was a large metallic drum that stored data. I want to highlight a new browser that really has me excited. It is called ARC. https://arc.net/gift/c1c3a617
This browser is NOT like others. There is a learning curve here. Spaces, bookmarking system, and blazing speeds. I find it renders graphics exceedingly well. My guess is a lot of gamers will be into this already. I just like the speed and efficiency. Pro Tip: use the "import from other Browser" tool. Boom. Up and running in seconds.
no Linux ---- no can do
Does it have a good search engine? It seems search engine functionality has degraded over time. I miss being able to +include or -exclude and it actually work.
Honestly it feels like Google and Bing have become moar stoopider, censorship issues aside, and I don't have a good solution for it... maybe someone else does?
It worked better ten years ago...
There are several ways to improve on what you now have.
'Back in the day', all results were given and you had to weed through 1,000s of pages to find the results you wanted, but at least they were THERE.
I even found an encrypted communique between a nefarious historic character and the Bank of Malta once. And of course, that's why Al Gore invented the Algorhythm and the rest is history.
btw: Google means 'Everything in the universe, plus one'.
They lie.
But then who owns/runs Google? There you go.
Nice for those needing eye candy.
Once the nature of things get more important than the packaging, the attentions turns to what is under the hood and its real function and objectives.

That is a biggie nono right there, as your privacy is immediately compromised.
Bigger nono.
Very, very bad.
Although it may have been and may be plugged, the main concerns remains the same.
If you want to use an app, use a mobile device. If you are privacy and anonymity oriented, stay away from it.
OP, glad you found something you like, but imo your recommendation is not fit to meet my security needs.
If you really want to grab our interest, support Linux, the private OS.
Nothing you do on the internet is private. Linux is NOT secure or immune. The "security" tools we plebians have access to are nothing compared to what exists. Couple that with the analytical power of governmental AI. Even the little of what we know they can do is retardedly demoralizing.
The game seems to be numbers. Only way to "hide" is being part of an overwhelming number of people doing the same thing.
Downloading some security/privacy tool is just giving them a helpful spotlight on who to focus on.
I mean, if you were a badguy, isn't that what you would do?
I don't doubt what you say. But I have a somewhat false sense of security using Linux vs the virus from Redmond.
Sorry. Not meaning to attack or anything. And yes, you are better off going with linux just because you are making a statement of what kind of internet you want, and also not giving more money to Bill.
I also use linux fwiw.
Hey OP, thanks for sharing. How is it with memory use?
