This is scary stuff. People have gotten way too comfortable letting everyone and anyone know about themselves.
I understand the dangers of Real ID but how else can you check massive voter fraud.
I understand the dangers of licensing guns, but how else can you stop shootings.
Arrest the murderers and keep them in prison. Simple.
Real ID is something everyone has been welcoming or fighting, one way or the other. I live in Librafornia and we’ve had a Real ID like system for decades. So basically the Feds bought in of a Cali ID idea to have each citizen have a formal/similar ID. Well guess what Americans, if you have a Social Security Card/#, “they” or Big Brother already “tracks” you. If you have a State Driver’s License, they already track you. I’m not sure about other States, but to get a Cali Drivers License, you have to provide all your current info, social#, get photographed, and you give them your biological copied thumbprint. Heck my DL has a Hologram of my thumbprint in it, as did my old one from 5-6 years ago.
Anyways the Real ID is just like a standard State Cali ID. You have to prove your birth, social, and yep give another Thumbprint. It’s not scary. It’s not like they decide my credit raising off it. But it provides a concise Drivers License across the US, and citizen ID.
I just see it no different than my current license or Social Security Card, or even my Passport, except my DL will now look like everyone else’s across the US instead of State to State differences.
I don’t know y’all. I just still want to fly when I want and buy ammo when I want. If “they” just want me to have a concise DL with the rest of you, then to get what I want for my travel and ammo, I’ll get a new stupid updated card.
What's stopping them from just faking these ID's also?
The ones in Cali are very difficult/near impossible to fake. The fronts where your picture, address, and DL number have several personal holographic images, your photo again, and finger print/thumb print. The strip on the back has all the same info on the front contained digitally. Plus the inside of the card has some additional qualities that only show up if a flashlight is shown through it from behind.
Our bar doormen in my town are super good at weeding out fake IDs, since we are a CA. University town. You should see the jars of fake IDs our bar guys collect at the bars. Oh yes they keep the fake ones in jars by the doors for all to see, and so they can match up if another comes along. 😂😂
