When I worked there in high school we were closed on: Easter, Thanksgiving day, and Christmas day. What happened to this world that this is now newsworthy?
Good Friday is the 2nd most important (celebrated) holiday in Australia. Everything shuts on Good Friday, second only to Christmas Day. Easter Sunday, not as much.
I appreciate the fact that there are still some vestiges of our Christian foundation here.
I think all businesses should be closed on Easter Sunday. The only exception should be the Emergency Room. Give every employee the opportunity to worship our God.

Here in Greece, many shops open from 1 pm till 7 pm today. That allows everyone to attend a morning service.

I've heard that this year, the orthodox (and Greek) Easter falls on the same day as the Western Easter. Is that true?
