The Jews in Jesus time and going back to Adam and Eve, in the OLD TESTAMENT were under the LAW. This required a BLOOD Sacrifice. This law was corrupted. When Jesus went to the temple, the moneychangers were called out because they were corrupting the LAW. This is the only time we see Jesus angry by driving them out of the temple. “And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves
“It is written,” he said to them, “’My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”
AND THE BLIND AND THE LAME CAME TO HIM IN THE TEMPLE AND HE HEALED THEM.
The Old Testament - LAW - showed that just the Jews (Gods people) were under the Law, but the second that Christ died FOR EVERYONE’S SINS, the temple's curtain was rent from top to bottom, symbolic that no longer were the Gentiles outside of God's family . One is important. What was behind that curtain? The Ark Of The Covenant. The symbol of God Himself was residing with ‘His People’. The rent curtain - the laws, the sacrifices, the obligations etc. that the Jews had to keep daily, had been replaced by GRACE as shown in the NEW TESTAMENT. Because the blood sacrifice of Christ provided a way for ALL to be part of Gods family. The WORLD is now under Gods GRACE.
Probably one of the most quoted Bible verses is John 3:16 tells us this., "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
And in Ephesians 3:8. For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
One in Christ
11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. 17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[d] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by[e] the Spirit.
