Space-based lasers and particle beams, yes, not approved for credibility. But sonic weapons and microwaves are known for many years to be harmful. Some crowd-scale infrasonic devices have been made to cause a crowd to void their bowels. Tends to put a damper on demonstrations. And radars have been known to be dangerous animal life. (Old story of Russian radar techs discovering dead dogs at the far end of a runway, where they were pointing figher radars for testing.) These weapons probably have practical limitations on effective range. And there are some problems with limiting the effects to the intended targets, and not the operators.
