Keep in mind that the problem is a complex one and goes beyond just finances, since poor people have babies when they can't realistically support them, and the richer families aren't that more fertile than the regular family.
We need to tackle the problem on many fronts: economically, culturally, politically, at all levels of government, and outside the government.
And, ideally, we should have couples have children out of their own free will, and not under force.
Wealthier you are, less kids the couple is likely to have.
Of course, it's a complex issue and just throwing money at it usually never works, but I thought it was an interesting idea.
I like Hungary's system where you get a permanent deduction of income tax for life for each baby.
(In addition to the cost of birthing the baby likely being free)
Although income tax elimination for everyone is a goal for MAGA that we seek to accomplish in the near future, so it might not be a good long-term solution.
