Nevertheless, I had someone unrelated by the same surname (and same given name) in the class following mine in high school. There is a lumber company in my region with the same surname (unrelated). There was a local political representative with the same surname (unrelated). There was a noted film and TV actor with the same surname (unrelated). And there was a fellow worker at my company with not only the same surname (unrelated) but the same initials. This caused us both a lot of bother, as our interplant mail would often get misdelivered. There are 2,442,977 Smiths, but I can remember meeting only one Smith in my lifetime.

As expected, the sleep monster dropped a yellow pill on my Zzz's and woke me up in the middle of the night. It's like he's doing FFTs in NlogN (the big O) and I'm still in kinder-garten.
