From the beginning, the powerful killed the righteous and pretended to be righteous! They are like the snake in the Bible, connivingly convincing the masses that they have their best interest at heart; while they've never cared! Everything has been a zero sum game for them. You think you win while they get exactly what they intentended to get!
What is history but the story of the those who consider themselves our masters, dictating what happens to us.
Dr. Sowell's book Conquests and Cultures is what really awakened my critical thinking skills. If any Frens would like to read factual, brilliantly written books, this man will not disappoint.

Humanity will NEVER be free until Christ returns. The majority of humans just want to live their lives and be left alone. An evil minority will always arise to try and take what others have, either by taking over the government, or by force of arms - or both.
To a large degree, I’d also add Religion.
