No the vigil is ongoing the whole time. Family, friends, and neighbors drop by and they bring some of the food which is supposed to be there provided by the family of the deceased. Typically the Dongs (men and boys your age or younger) hang out and drink (not tthe. boys) and gamble with some Dhay (Short for Indhay, women or girls), also gamble. Some of the proceeds going towards the food expenses.
These are mostly poor unemployed country folks... gambling is very small amounts of money
