Posting this here bc many of you may use Amazon not knowing how crooked and rotten they are.
I recently reactivated my individual seller account after 5 years of non-use to sell a personal art book I had that was rare. It was a copy of Gelitin's "The B Thing" which involves 9/11.
It sold and theyre now keeping my whole $1100 in payments. I have no A-Z Claims, chargebacks, account is Healthy, and no tax issues, which are the reasons they provide for holding up funds.
I sold this to fund a class trip for my son for school.
I shipped the book using Amazon-paid and provided shipping with insurance. This is supposed to protect sellers furthee.
Seller Support has been patently useless, keep referring me to the Account Level Reserve page which doesn't apply to me, as I have none of the issues.
Last i heard from customer support was: "Please be inform that we dnn't have reserve any payments in your account however still the amount has been hold, so I will transfer the case to internal team to investigate further." (Spelling errors direct from amazon rep in chat)
I got an email from them just now that basically says they can keep it forever so 🤷♂️. Im also hearing i cant close my account or theyll keep the money and they may also ask for a receipt to prove i owned this book or they can deactivate the account and keep the funds
Beware folks, normal people on Amazon are getting screwed when you buy there, even those among us
Start looking for an attorney. The only way it stops is calling them on it. Sue for your personal expense to bring the suit. There are lawyers out there that will take your case with no money up front. They get a percentage of the judgement. Sue for punitive damage as your son’s trip can’t happen without your funds. Good luck. Don’t lie down and take it. That’s why these guys are getting away with this type of stuff.
It has to go through arbitration and I'm seeing $1800 to file the dispute claim
My God. They’re strong arming you. Good luck.
If you sold some rare gay book, you would have no problem i bet.
You should have gone to EBAY instead.. Amazon is for commercial stuff and brand names with patents and such they required those paperwork
I had always had good experiences with Amazon in the past. EBAY has become very fee intensive and also doesn't protect sellers from buyers just lying and saying they never got the item.
I've got the name and address of the buyer, wonder if I should call her and ask her to return it. I'd sell it to her cheaper and cut them out once I got my refund 🤣
Might work, only a patriot would buy that book.
If Tiffany from Boca Raton is here and recently bought the book send me a message lol
Amazon is likely cooking the books when it comes to accounting. They have had massive trouble with making a profit in the early years because they have been acquiring everything in their path. They are now trying to corner the television market with streaming and that means sports. They own parts of the NASCAR season, Thursday Night Football, and part of the NBA season. This is under the Prime Video package which is part of the Amazon Prime 2-day free shipping deal. You can imagine that Amazon Prime is losing money even without Prime Video.
2 days my ass kek. I've NEVER gotten anything from them in 2 days. 3 at best if it's through UPS. A week or more through USPS. I hate USPS. Yes that "entity" is my soapbox I will complain any chance I get.
