Funny story, UK's largest power station DRAX, ran on coal but was converted to run on wood pellets. The pellets are imported by ship from USA where they are made from fine timber (100+ year old trees) which is shredded and then dried at great energy cost, then shipped at great energy cost, then burnt here.

This they call carbon neutral. Coal, being essentially 1000000+ year old trees, is not considered carbon neutral for some stupid reason.
