Exactly. In law, a pardon is an exoneration of a criminal CONVICTION. If there is no conviction, there is no need for a pardon. It is not supposed to be used as a GRANT OF IMMUNITY from any indictments, charges, or trials. These "pardons" are misidentified. They are unconstitutional, as no President has the power to grant immunity from the law.
