An incorrect description. It is not a new color of the human iris, it is the ability to induce the sensation of a "new" color in the retinal cells. The attached artist's concept is completely wrong.
They did not create a new color, or a new human eye color
They figured out how to temporarily manipulate a human eye to be able to see a shade of a color that we are normally unable to perceive.
