Fam and I eat mostly Organic. Been trying to loose some weight too. I will try to exercise more but this has been creeping up on me more and more this last year. Anyone know if a long fast lowers this? Going to try a fast for a few weeks maybe and reset my system. Any other non pharma recs on how to lower this down? Thanks guys.
The sad fact is that years ago big pharma accidentally, during completely unrelated trials, discovered a drug that lowered cholesterol. Some executive, who's a billionaire now, came up with an idea to demonize cholesterol and create a huge market for their new class of drugs. High cholesterol as a health problem was born. It is completely unproven and 100% marketing. See The Cholesterol Myth: Lies My Doctor Told Me, by Jonny Bowden.
This is an excellent book. And Johnny Bowden is able to communicate in a very understandable way for lay persons. I just gave a copy of this book to my older sister who is having bad side effects from Repatha. Her cholesterol (LDL) is too low and she was also on atorvastatin. Her doctor told her "your cholesterol can't be too low" which is either ignorance or a lie. Thankfully she stopped both statins and the Repatha.
We have familial hypercholesteremia. HDL and LDL can be further broken down, and in our case we have elevated Lp(a) which is very bad for laying down plaque. I was able to lower my overall cholesterol and Lp(a) with the Lysine and Vitamin C regimen for plaque removal as discussed on this platform. Also take olive leaf capsules, plant sterols and citrus bergamot, also a keto plan diet, low to no sugar, lots of veggies and meat, eggs, fish, avocadoes and nuts. High cholesterol in normal people is not the problem, it is inflammation from sugar and other pollutants. I just had a calcium scan done and am awaiting the results. Fingers crossed that there is low to no plaque in my arteries.
Thank you for this.
Go with what Mr. Berframer tells you. He knows of what he speaks. Very good reply.
