It's sad, because I can't imagine being this old and then for the first time in your life being confronted by reality and it shatters your world view. Just think how many people, in this person's life, lied to and failed him.

Being confronted by that so late in life has got to be terrifying. I can only hope that this will lead to guiding children away from situations like this.
