That scene in "Taken", where super wealthy bid on women (probably children too, but they didn't show that), is not such a stretch, and perhaps someone involved with writing the screenplay knew it was going on. If you haven't seen "Taken", I HIGHLY recommend it; spoiler: the bad guys get what they deserve :)
