Sort of the same. Part of Alaska is within the Arctic Circle, but not all of Alaska. All of Alaska is still technical term damn cold.
The difference between chilly and cold was once explained to me like this: Chilly makes you uncomfortable. Cold makes you dead. Best to visit first; it's lovely.

Stay away from Anchorage! Alaska lags behind the other states.. still cresting the yuck and will take time to claw our way back out.
Also, we are technically an arctic desert... so.. I knew what you meant..lol
