Its very difficult in some ways...I Love this Country, I did my service, I fought against the Commies and Everything i know is here in SA. I don't Really want to leave but i must think rationally...I'm 63 and Not a spring chicken anymore but i would gladly take up arms in a heartbeat to defend my people...I'm Single, No wife, no GF or kids although if i redid my life i would have loved to have had kids of my own, as it is I have fantastic nephews and nieces... I'm Just trying to work out what am i going to do going forward, I've worked since I was 16 and have done a multitude of different jobs, but what now, I'm at retirement age and I Do not want to be a burden on anyone...The Next 6 months will determine if i can be Financially secure going forward.... Lots of different thoughts I'm having to process...But lets see what happens with my application and take it day by day.....will probably take from 6 months to a year....😉😎🙏🏻
Wow a lot of similarities, I'm almost 67, returned to US and work. I'm happily married to second wife no kids. Possibly sterile from fetal alcohol syndrome or the weed smoking I self-medicated my childhood trauma away with. I too worked a verity of jobs.
I have a solution to your economic concerns. In the USA in many cities and states the security industry pays decent. I make 18 bucks an hour in an office building. I have a lot of free time because I work nights, I have computer access so I watch documentaries and go on GAW, I also practice vocals. Financials and trolling evil is from home... Dayshift is more concierge activity... Just make sure building is locked up tight on night shift and it's very safe!
They have trouble keeping good people, most security has little to know benefits. They hire anyone who can get a security license. NO DEI BS they like old white men, we show up on time and rarely call off...I have insurance threw wife and can take vacation with no-pay. Working OT boosts pay a lot. Over 40 hours is 1.5 rate. Since its almost like living room its not hard to work a lot of hours.

Reminds me of Haiti and Rhodesia. Africa is rich in resources, there is no reason for it to be a jumble of failed states.
I once sat next to a black African on a long plane ride (thinking Kenya or Uganda). He was successful in the US, but wanted to go back to help the people. I asked him why the people were still impoverished long after Colonialism and many years of aid. He said it was corruption.
