🧠These people are STUPID!
It's not always easy. I had a job as a fire and life safety director in a hotel. Along with that, I also did packages (mail/letters were usually addressed to hotel staff) and lost and found. There were only two of us per shift, sometimes just one because the retards that owned the company had no clue what they were doing. We also had to do lock interrogation, and take pictures and write incident reports if the cleaning staff found evidence of smoking or someone trashed the room.
The company can make or break the experience, the site can make or break the experience, a supervisor/director of security can make or break the experience, colleagues can make or break the experience, building management, tenants/companies at the site, the people that come in, many, many things can make it either tolerable, or give you a stress heart attack. I'm only 39 but putting an insane amount of stress on myself trying to leave. I'm a long way away from retirement, that's what I need to think about.
Yes, I worked In-House as security for 2 years at a Franchise Hilton (no benefits), and 7 years In-House for a Radisson that lost it's flag 3 years in. The owners had great benefit and pay package, that's why I stayed
In-House security benefits not much OT, Contract Security plenty of OT, no benefits.
