DDoSecrets publishes 410 GB of heap dumps, hacked from TeleMessage's archive server
This morning, Distributed Denial of Secrets published 410 GB of data hacked from TeleMessage, the Israeli firm that makes modified versions of Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram, and WeChat that centrally archive messages. Because the data is sensitive and full of...
Interesting how the messaging / narrative tries to bind Signal to this dump, when in the listing it says:
How the Signal knockoff app TeleMessage got hacked in 20 minutes (Wired) Archive link
Hrumpf. That is interesting.
TeleMessage had some other interesting smells around it did it not?
I dont know if this applies but it's not legal to view classified information.
That's what CNN said about wikileaks. It was their job, so they claim. I think according to 1A it's everyones job.
It's illegal to leak classified info, but if you have sworn no TS oath where is the crime? That's what journalism is. The spook and the journo in trench coats meet in a dark alley, the spy is breaking the law (his oath) by handing off the info, then the journo makes it public and protects his source. There used to be movies about that stuff.
Not legal advice
I'm not expert, but I would research it before I viewed such material myself.
Do what you think is best.
sure.
But is it classified?
I have no idea. But I'm not viewing unknown hacked data, could have CP in it even.
Far enuff
Is this website a play on McAfee?
Also, I had Ingersoll vibes. Trying to magic up something.
But maybe it's legit. So far.
They aren't releasing the data set unless you are a journalist or "researcher". That means they want to control it and shape the narrative without people being able to call them on it.
Does anyone have the source available so that it can be dug through?
Agreed, am hunting, there is still lots of information to start with.
Is this similar to Snowden and Wikileaks?
Not sure yet.
