I’m conflicted here. I’m not a constitutional scholar but I’ve become more educated over the last decade. While this is a great legislation to protect J6ers from political persecution, I don’t understand why it needs to be created in the first place. We should not need new legislation if we already have civil liberties. What we need is accountability for those who infringed on those rights.
I agree. But, it seems this is all we have been doing since 2016...making laws to verify the validity of existing laws. Enforcement of existing laws would be much better.
I am not an American! My country is ran by dipshit politicians on both sides of the aisle! I'm stating this to clarify my contention! The politicians should be servants to their people! Their people visiting the chambers, of power, cannot be labelled as an insurrection when they peacefully entered into their servants chambers! Any good intentioned American should be able to enter the 'chambers of power'! Prosecuting these people and the media falsely claiming that Trump created the insurrection, was all a setup! Imagine an
insurrection with no guns, in the most armed country in the world! GTFOH!

Agreed… we don’t need a new law, we need to get rid of the prosecutors and judges who created this problem.
