The sausage (or as we call them, hot dog) is rotating on a grill in a convenience store, and the old joke goes that they remain there for years before being consumed... and it is directly related to the cartoon above it, the mamma pig telling the offspring pig, "Your father is rolling in his grave"... which in itself is an idiom here, perhaps not shared with your culture, about dead people who are not around to see this or that outrage that they would have opposed, rolling in their graves in disgust. The two-panel cartoon is taken as a whole, and either one gets it, or does not get it, immediately. Hope that helps.
Thanks! Never seen such a grill in convenience stores and that's the key to the joke.

I don't recommend eating these, they are full of nitrates and nitrites, sodium, and mystery components, and are what we call ultra-processed food. But some folks, unmindful of healthy eating, devour these things, on a bun with mustard, relish, chopped onions, cheese and chili. Basically it's the "American hotdog" sold at ballgames, served at picnics, and casual weekend meals at homes throughout the land. No wonder we are such an unhealthy nation. I avoid such "food" and stick with healthier choices.
