You got a few more downvotes than upvotes. Exaggeration.

And the definition for vitriol is "bitterly abusive expression." A downvote, Hell, 1M downvotes isn't the same as words that are bitterly abusive.

Respectfully, you would do well to adjust your sensitive-o-meter.

I can understand the sentiment though, this is a research and discourse site, after all. It really doesn't further the conversation to just hit the "I disagree" button without the why behind the disagreement.
