Having moved to Florida ten years ago...from NY, the roads down here were very enlightening. Its a raceway everywhere. Maybe it's the heat or the sun or both but these roads are dangerous. I know what Ronny said but these protestors KNOW. Don't get in the way of Florida drivers. You will die.
I wanted to move to Florida a few years ago but I looked at the job postings and man The income compared to the cost of rent that I was able to make there was just not doing it. I mean God it's so expensive and the jobs pay so little. Has that changed in the past few years or no?
Not really. I feel you. We moved here just at the right time and for family or we would not have been able to own a home.. Just for an example, in 14 we bought our house for 55k. A modest 1200 sq feet home. It is now worth 225k. Insanity.As for work I can only tell you what I do. Autobody collision. The shop rates in florida are still under 60.00 per hour. May be lowest in the country. Housing has went through the roof here especially right after covid.I wish you luck.
It is the humidity. The temps where I live , near tampa are 90-95 everyday in the summer...which is around 6 months long. The dew point is mid 70s everyday. If you compare that to a dry heat in the desert it's far more uncomfortable and I know temps out there are well over 100. Dew point is brutal here and makes things tough.I would take dry heat over tropical conditions anytime. That is just me though.
