I don't have the expertise to pick apart these studies. Behar's conclusions could be correct. However studies are often false. Obviously there is tremendous potential for fuckery with this issue. If Ashkenazis are truly not descended from Hebrews then a lot of things would be turned upside down (right side up?)
I understand - we’ve all waded through misleading COVID studies and the flood of misinformation out there. It’s exhausting how much discernment we need to separate fact from fiction. Still, it’s better to stay skeptical and question what you hear than to unknowingly spread falsehoods or accept shaky claims as truth.
I never have said anything is true or not. As in scientific data I think truth is asymptotic. It is possible to get closer to it but considering our limitations it is wise to have doubt about everything, even something that is widely condemned.
You were defending the position that Ashkenazi's are essentially fake Jews, and this group is the sole force of evil in the world that has been used as a dog whistle to go against Jews as a whole. Perhaps you were just playing Devil's advocate and I over prescribed your position, but these stories come from ideologues that fixate on a single narrative, can only discuss events that confirm their bias, while willfully ignoring any counters to it's claim.
In response to what appears to me as an attempt to vilify the Khazarian hypothesis by association I have talked about research showing Ashkenazi Jews originated in ancient Northeast Turkey. You can call it what you want. It doesn't matter to me. I do not appreciate the OP or anyone trying to tar me with accusations of hate.
