Have a new granddaughter getting ready to come into the world anytime now and I'm probably freaking out more than my daughter is, lol.
I'm not sure if she is going to breast feed, she didn't with her first two children, so I'm thinking she may not this time. I plan on talking with her soon about it. Also, she did get an epidural with the other 2, but I know it messed with her back later on, so not sure if she will do it this time.
I've already told her & she agrees, absolutely NO shots/vaxx's for either one of them (her or the new baby), I think I've mentioned not to let them smear that junk on baby's eyes right after she is born, but I'll have to mention it again just in case. Told her to make sure before she signs admittance papers to write on them, she doesn't consent to any shots/vaxx's for her or the baby. If they can manage it, I wouldn't let that baby out of their site while in the hospital, I don't trust any docs or nurses.
Told her to research formula's if she is going that route, because I thought I read there was some harmful ingredients in some name brands. But haven't heard back from her about it yet. She's busy with her 2 kids who are teens & bf's kids that they just got custody of (3 young kids), and her oldest just graduated HS, she has her hands full. This baby wasn't planned by them, but I know our Lord blessed them with this baby! It was a surprise, but they couldn't be happier about this little blessing coming into their (and our lives). With her first two kids, she had very rough pregnancies (in & out of hospital), but this one... thank you Jesus 🙏... she hasn't had the same issues.
We aren't sure if we can be there at the time of her giving birth, we are in another state and it's like a days to drive to them.
Anyway, sorry to get off track a bit...
So, what else do we have to look out for?
I strongly recommend hiring a doula. If $ is an issue, many work on a sliding scale. I wound up needing a C-section. My doula made sure it was truly necessary and not for the doctor's convenience (I think I read that like 1/3 of C-sections are because the doctor is in a hurry and doesn't want to wait), that they only gave me the safest drugs (they were trying to use a drug off-label that could have harmed the baby), made sure that they stuck to my birth plan and didn't give him things I hadn't authorized, and helped make sure that he latched and was getting milk. My birth experience was good overall thanks to hers. It could have been a nightmare if she hadn't been there guarding me.
