What if the strikes weren’t escalation—but interruption?
President Trump once shared a video of economist Jeffrey Sachs, where Sachs clearly stated that Benjamin Netanyahu was one of the main forces behind dragging the U.S. into the wars in Iraq and Syria, and that he was relentlessly trying to push the U.S. into a war with Iran.
This wasn’t an accident.Trump shared that clip himself. He wanted people to know.
Sachs didn’t mince words—he said the endless pressure to attack Iran didn’t come from U.S. interests, but from Netanyahu, who has spent decades repeating the same alarmist line: “Iran is weeks away from a nuclear weapon.”
That narrative has been Israel’s standing excuse for pre-emptive strikes, assassinations, regional escalation, and demands for U.S. military support.
But now, with Trump’s recent airstrike—whatever you think of it—that excuse may be gone.
If Iran really did have functioning nuclear sites, they’ve now been targeted.
If they didn’t, the threat has been publicly “neutralized.”
Either way, the justification for war disappears.
That might have been the point all along.
A strike that looks aggressive, but strategically halts escalation by cutting the legs out from under Netanyahu’s favorite talking point.
And this is why Trump posting back in January that old Sachs video matters now more than ever. It shows Trump knew. He knows exactly who has been pushing these wars. And he knows how that pressure campaign has shaped U.S. policy for over 20 years.
So while people panic, scream betrayal, or demand more clarity—remember:
Sometimes, removing your opponent’s last excuse is the most powerful move of all.
Trump has shown that he sees who’s behind the curtain. He may have just flipped the table again.
If you’re paying attention, the signal is still there.
He knew. He knows. And he may have just changed the game without saying a word.
I was interested to see Net and Yahoo come out boasting about it. So you may be right. Perhaps this has been a dare to draw Bibi out. Even the B2 Bomber moniker seems to symbolize that. Double meanings and all.
Vance today was itemizing why the mission was so courageous, and of course one cannot fault the pilots, and accuracy. they were following orders. But also GWP just reported on how there was an advanced warning, so that vehicular movement was observed around a couple of the sites for a couple days beforehand. This warning gave the Iranians time to get rid of the radioactive stuff. I note that there is no word from JD on the morality, ethics or observance of UN (US-inspired and approved by congress, BTW) rules of engagement. And maybe when you are pulling a PR stunt, there is no need.
And in terms of a viral moment - the whole world is talking about it, and I notice that FB is in full spam mode. So that was a success.
The way I see it ATM is that the IAEA knew where everything was, and they have now lost credibility, and will prolly have to assess their own modus operandi. We know nothing about the Israeli nuclear program (apart from conspiracy theory), because they never had any inspections or audits. So, the IAEA was not fulfilling its duty as a global institution, making sure everybody abided by the rules. AND it put the Iranians at a disadvantage in submitting to those same rules, by being open about it.
In the long run, there does need to be oversight over what people build in terms of reactors and enrichment plants etc., but it needs to be fair and universal. And guess what? Iran had those inspections, they even had one right after the bombing, to make sure there were no leaks. Israel on the other hand...
Having a rogue state of fundamentalists with low IQ and terrorist diplomacy skills brandishing nukes and throwing bombs at nuke-facilities may have to be addressed now, by serious people. The only saving grace, in terms of ethics, for the Americans, is that there WAS a warning.
But you see: Israelis are fleeing en masse now. Iranians are not.
This. I said a couple of days ago that Bibi was the puppet. Nuclear threat gone. Israel can start living again. No need for endless supply of military equipment. And certainly no need for boots on the ground.
