I was doing more research on this and wanted to know what you all thought about this:
“The antisemites of this world are right – the Jews do run the world – but not in the way they think.”Sinclair elaborates that this refers to a spiritual concept from Rabbi Chaim Volozhin’s Nefesh HaChaim, where the Jewish people’s adherence to Torah and mitzvot (commandments) influences divine blessings or consequences for the world. He explicitly clarifies that this is not about political, economic, or conspiratorial control, as you lot might claim, but rather a metaphysical responsibility rooted in Jewish theology.
The Talmud are a bunch of Rabbis arguing law and ethics using the Tenach as it's base, which encompass the Torah and the book of prophets. It was never meant as a dogmatic teaching but encouraging ongoing interpretation. There has been points of history where the Talmud was used as a means to spark hatred on the Jews out of frustration for the lack of Jews converting to Christianity, like Martin Luther particularly where he used the fact the Talmud contains a Yeshu who was a bastard child (as per the definition of mamzer is a byproduct of an illicit union). This Yeshu" was a student of Rabbi Yehoshua ben Perachiah, a figure dated to the 2nd century BCE (Hasmonean period) not during the time of Christ and the manner of death was not the same, but it was still used for rhetorical attacks by Luther to portray the Talmud as anti-Christian, fueling anti-Jewish sentiment despite these historical discrepancies.
